1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CampusConnect Demo University, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not create an account, post listings, contact users, or use the platform.
2. Eligibility and Account Verification
- You must be a current Demo University student or an approved member of the campus community.
- You must provide accurate information, including your name, Demo University email address, department, and other requested verification details.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private and for all activity on your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old or otherwise legally permitted to use the platform under applicable laws.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that use false information, impersonate others, bypass verification, or create safety risks.
3. User Conduct
- Treat other users respectfully and communicate honestly.
- Do not harass, threaten, deceive, spam, or pressure other users.
- Do not post false, misleading, duplicate, stolen, or unavailable items.
- Do not attempt to bypass platform security, access unauthorized accounts, scrape data, or interfere with platform operations.
- Do not use CampusConnect Demo University for illegal activity or activity that violates Demo University rules.
4. Listings, Points, and Expiration
- You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and availability of every item you list. Photos, titles, prices, descriptions, categories, and condition must be truthful.
- Prohibited items include weapons, illegal drugs, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, alcohol, tobacco, exam materials sold against university rules, unsafe products, and any item prohibited by Nigerian law or Demo University policy.
- Points and listing limits: Posting a listing requires a positive points balance. New accounts are credited with 3 starter points as a gift; each standard listing consumes 1 point. Repeatedly posting low-quality, prohibited, or clearly fraudulent listings may result in loss of points, listing removal, account suspension, or further enforcement under these Terms.
- Listing expiration: Every listing automatically expires 1 month after its creation date. Once expired, the listing is no longer visible to other users and will be moved to your “expired” tab. You may repost the item (subject to available points) if it is still available for sale.
5. Transactions, Payments, and Fees
- Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing on price, location, payment method, inspection, and exchange.
- CampusConnect Demo University only connects buyers and sellers. CampusConnect is not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers.
- All payment arrangements must be completed directly between users, typically in cash or by bank/mobile transfer during an agreed campus meetup.
- CampusConnect Demo University may offer free listings, promoted listings, or transaction-related features. Any fees will be shown before confirmation.
- Any dispute regarding payment, item condition, delivery, or transaction outcome remains primarily between the buyer and seller.
- Unless explicitly stated, CampusConnect Demo University is not a payment processor, escrow service, guarantor, or delivery service.
- Inspect items before paying and keep transaction records until the exchange is complete.
6. Safety Guidelines
- Meet in public, well-lit campus locations whenever possible.
- Do not send money in advance to unknown users.
- Check the item carefully before paying.
- Keep screenshots or records of important conversations.
- Whenever possible, meet during daylight hours and consider bringing a friend for high-value transactions.
- Report suspicious behavior immediately through the report page.
7. Reports, Moderation, and Enforcement
We may review reports, listings, account activity, and content reasonably necessary to investigate violations of these Terms.
False reports, retaliatory reports, or abuse of the reporting system may also lead to enforcement action.
8. Intellectual Property
You keep ownership of your photos, descriptions, and content, but you give CampusConnect Demo University permission to host, display, process, and promote that content as needed to operate the platform.
9. Account Termination
CampusConnect may suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create safety risks, engage in fraud, abuse platform features, or harm the community.
Termination decisions may be made with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
CampusConnect Demo University is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free service, user behavior, item quality, or transaction outcomes. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from user transactions or misuse of the platform.
11. Updates to These Terms
We may update these terms as the platform changes. If the changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of CampusConnect Demo University after updates means you accept the revised terms.
