The rules for using CampusConnect UI safely and fairly.

These terms explain your responsibilities, our platform rules, prohibited items, safety expectations, and how we handle reports and enforcement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CampusConnect UI, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not create an account, post listings, contact users, or use the platform.

Important: CampusConnect UI is a marketplace platform. We do not own, inspect, guarantee, or sell the items posted by users.

2. Eligibility and Account Verification

  • You must be a current University of Ibadan student or an approved member of the campus community.
  • You must provide accurate information, including your name, UI email address, department, and other requested verification details.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private and for all activity on your account.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that use false information, impersonate others, bypass verification, or create safety risks.

3. User Conduct

  • Treat other users respectfully and communicate honestly.
  • Do not harass, threaten, deceive, spam, or pressure other users.
  • Do not post false, misleading, duplicate, stolen, or unavailable items.
  • Do not use CampusConnect UI for illegal activity or activity that violates University of Ibadan rules.

4. Listings, Points, and Expiration

  • You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and availability of every item you list. Photos, titles, prices, descriptions, categories, and condition must be truthful.
  • Prohibited items include weapons, illegal drugs, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, alcohol, tobacco, exam materials sold against university rules, unsafe products, and any item prohibited by Nigerian law or University of Ibadan policy.
  • Points and listing limits: Posting a listing requires a positive points balance. New accounts are credited with 3 starter points as a gift; each standard listing consumes 1 point. Repeatedly posting low-quality, prohibited, or clearly fraudulent listings may result in loss of points, listing removal, account suspension, or further enforcement under these Terms.
  • Listing expiration: Every listing automatically expires 1 month after its creation date. Once expired, the listing is no longer visible to other users and will be moved to your “expired” tab. You may repost the item (subject to available points) if it is still available for sale.

5. Transactions, Payments, and Fees

  • Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing on price, location, payment method, inspection, and exchange.
  • CampusConnect UI only connects buyers and sellers. We do not process, hold, escrow, or guarantee payment funds.
  • All payment arrangements must be completed directly between users, typically in cash or by bank/mobile transfer during an agreed campus meetup.
  • CampusConnect UI may offer free listings, promoted listings, or transaction-related features. Any fees will be shown before confirmation.
  • Unless explicitly stated, CampusConnect UI is not a payment processor, escrow service, guarantor, or delivery service.
  • Inspect items before paying and keep transaction records until the exchange is complete.

6. Safety Guidelines

  • Meet in public, well-lit campus locations whenever possible.
  • Do not send money in advance to unknown users.
  • Check the item carefully before paying.
  • Keep screenshots or records of important conversations.
  • Report suspicious behavior immediately through the report page.

7. Reports, Moderation, and Enforcement

We may review listings, accounts, messages, and reports to protect the community. We may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, ban users, or cooperate with university or legal authorities where appropriate.

False reports, retaliatory reports, or abuse of the reporting system may also lead to enforcement action.

8. Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of your photos, descriptions, and content, but you give CampusConnect UI permission to host, display, process, and promote that content as needed to operate the platform.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

CampusConnect UI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free service, user behavior, item quality, or transaction outcomes. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from user transactions or misuse of the platform.

10. Updates to These Terms

We may update these terms as the platform changes. If the changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of CampusConnect UI after updates means you accept the revised terms.
